A little while ago I ran into Meesoo Lee, an artist who does stuff with lite brites, rubix cubes and video, amongst other things.

Anyway, he’s cool. Unfortunately I had to skip off pretty fast, being late for an appointment, but before we parted he offered me a piece of his latest work: lottery ticket bookmarks.

What you see here is an unscratched Gold Rush Scratch & Win that has been laminated to yes, make a great page holder. It’s driving me insane. I made the mistake of using it as a bookmark for my current read, which I now can no longer finish because I spend all my time examining the ticket and talking myself out of tearing it apart to scratch it. Meesoo did mention his feelings are not hurt when people aren’t able to control themselves, an idea that I laughed at, at the time. Will rationality win over gambling instinct?
